Trauma-Informed Practice for Educators

Course Description:

This course is designed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support students who have experienced trauma. Trauma can have a profound impact on a student’s ability to learn and engage in the classroom. Educators who understand the impact of trauma on a student’s behavior and academic performance will be better equipped to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Participants in this course will learn about the prevalence of trauma and its effects on the brain and behavior. The course will cover the 11 Principles of Effective Character Education, as well as specific strategies for implementing these principles in the school setting.
